Jakarta, January 23rd 2008

Its Daniel's Birthday today .... we are so honored that he's celebrating his special day here in Jakarta with us.

Knocked-on their door at 8 am in this morning, Ariel brought the noise maker (baby tin shaker), I brought the cup-cakes with candles and Miguel in-charge of the video, a little morning surprise for Dani .. he blow his B'day candles with Ariel, open presents and cup-cakes was our breakfast *grin* Unfortunately I deleted all the pictures from my camera, small accident from my side but Ani took some pictures too .. will get the copy from her tomorrow, the cup-cakes picture here were taken last night after I made them. Afterwards Miguel goes to work and we went to Ariel's school.

Lunch was at FJ'L .. Ani & Dani love the food & the ambience while Ariel fast asleep on my lap ... tired after school day. For dinner we took them to a nice Indonesian Restaurant, Lara Djonggrang in Menteng area, one of our favorite in town. They enjoyed it too (lucky us) Miguel has a little surprise during dinner, the staff of the restaurant were approaching our table with a loud Gong singing Happy Birthday and brought the cake, for a moment Ani & Dani was wondering what's going on *smile*

Such a precious moments for all of us (still upset that I don't have the pictures of Dani & Ariel blowing the candles from this morning) not every year we can celebrate his birthday together like this, mostly done via long distance telephone call .. Feliz Cumpleaños, Abu, wishing you all the best.

I know how annoying that would be if you keep on thinking about how you've lost those precious moments you've taken with your camera.
I've been there before, several months ago (I lost great pictures of Mom and baby Lex), so I know precisely how I hated myself at the moment.
Hope you'll get over it soon.

The cupcakes is the same like what you eat before in our home .. just different style & icing *smile*
Btw. Argentina flag color is blue & white, that was my idea for for the cake .. took me 15 minutes to find the right shade of the blue ;p

Ehehehehe...you're so GREAT !!!
BTW, have you ever tried to use the BlueBand margarine for your butter icing?
I mean, just using the BlueBand margarine only, as the ingredient for butter icing.
It makes the icing feels a bit salty. Just a very little bit. And that makes the cake or cupcakes in my hometown sooo TASTY !!!
Jadi gak gampang eneg kalo makan banyak (hahahahaha...keluar juga bhs Indonesia-nya, abis gak tau bhs Inggris-nya "eneg").
That's the secret recipe that makes people there could eat many cupcakes or cakes, in one serving.
Just a tip that maybe you wanna try sometimes, but you don't have to, if you don't want to.
Have a lot of fun there with your party of five (^o^)v

No I haven't Liv, I'm using unsalted butter.. both Miguel and I doesn't like the sweet & salty taste on a cake (or icing in particular) .. thank you for the tip, though ;o)

Ini restaurantnya di jalan Cik Di Tiro no 35, kalo dari Jakarta Eye Center lurus terus, 2 lampu merah kemudian.
This is one of the best indonesian Restaurant in town, the food is good and the service is great too .. you really have to give it a try *smile*

Yes, they are from Buenos Aires, Miguel was growing-up in Belgrano and his grandparents live in Palermo.
Apparently I can recover my pictures, just need to read the camera manual (siiiiggghhhh ... too lazy here)
