"The idea of this week's theme is that you look around you and snap a photo of something that is Unique to your part of the world. Look at your world through the eyes of those of us in other lands." This is picture of street vendor selling Arum Manis (similar taste to cotton candy but crispy in texture, served with thin waffer) in Pasar Mayestik, one of my favorite spot in Jakarta (where we reside at the moment). It's a traditional bazaar style market, you can find literally everything in this market. From fresh produce, baking goods, linens, electronics, and many more. Hundreds of street vendors with their little carts lining-up everywhere around the market, trying to sell their goods to potential customer. The cart make it possible for them to move around the area. I love the displays that they all put together, the hustling and bustling of people selling and buying, the varieties of goods available and all different conversations around, such an interesting place.
Picture was taken with my Canon Power Shot G9, December 2007. Click on the picture to get larger image.
