Blog EntryMona's Dare : Something ForeignJan 30, '08 9:10 PM
for everyone
This week DARE from Mona is to show our thing from foreign country, a bit difficult for me considering we love to travel and there are so many things that we collect from it. Fortunately we have some very favorite and memorable pieces too, not the expensive kind (ehemmm) but the meaningful ones.

Here we go :

  • The right hand side picture is my growing collection of Maracas. Started with Ariel favorit toy when she's little (the plastic ones, she had 4 or 5 different sets, mostly gift and look overused by now) then I bought one set for myself in Bali (the dark brown wooden one), when we were in Mexico I set my eyes on this purple ones hence they are mine, the feathered ones are from my dearest friend mindyjordan who brought it from Venezuela last December, not knowing that I'm having a soft spot for them .. (gracias, linda!).
  • The first one on the bottom is my husband favorit, we pick it up during our honeymoon in Italy, it looks like a polo player for me :o) The studio where we bought it is in Siena, it was one of the hottest summer in Europe (July 2003) and we've been walking around the area under the shade hence we've seen lots of beautiful shop (lucky me .. tehee).
  • The middle one is from ladies night market in Kowloon, Hong Kong. Was there for our civil wedding, one memorable week
  • The last one is a tiny watering can that open in the bottom (where the cat is) given to me from Mig's Grandmother couple hours before we left Buenos Aires, Argentina last November .. it was part of her large collection of tiny objects (this one in particular is from Teint Main - Limoges France).

There you go, I dare you to show yours now .

PS. To participate go to monaswe2007
, deadline is this week Friday (February 1st, 2008)

The watering can is sweet. I was in Europe that summer in Greece. I remember that it was sweltering and very uncomfortable.

Wow...you have such a GREAT collection.
You're so lucky for being able to travel around the world like that.
I love those pictures (great shots, Esti), especially the pigs, sooo CUTE !!!
I got a golden pig as well in this week's theme. Mom and Dad bought it in S'pore, especially for hubby, cos he was born in the Year of the Pig.

Come and take a look at mine.
And have such a lovely week there (^o^)v

Esti, sejak kita tinggal disini belum pernah napak ke negara lain nih. Nah kalau ngefoto barang yang unik hasil perburuan di Ikea terhitung foreign ga yah. Soalnya Ikea kan mewakili Sweden. LOL
Hey don't take this seriously, 'cause I was joking.

I don't know, your new theme seems plain but for some reason I love it and looks quite artistic with all of those soft geometric pattern and the tone on tone color is great too. Did you design this ?

Sorry I'm a bit blank at the moment. Which pumpkin patch that you're talking about ?
Although I'm commenting on this new theme, the grey tone on tone. It's simple with lots of soft geometric design. It's sophisticated.

(blushing) Well.. I tried 4 or 5 standard theme from Multiply, too lazy to make my own this time ... one of the theme got pumpkin color that stay overnight but I changed it as soon as I wake up the next day :o)
