www.lachacra.com.ar A superb restaurant serving traditional Argentinian food, we went there couple of times and enjoy it very much. The staff are very attentive, the food is delicious, highly recommended. On the first visit we tried their Asado for 2 persons, the portion was soooo big that we took the left over home with us. The second time Miguel told me about their speciality that on display which is Chivito (Kambing Guling). I truly enjoyed it, the meat was soooo tender it fell-off the bone the moment you touch it with your fork. It is a must try dish. English menu available, good value for money. Pictures below to tempt you.... My Chivito This is how they make Chivito (kambing guling) Patagonian style. (^_^)

www.ilnovomariadellujan.com A splendid restaurant located right by the river in Tigre, we had a superb Sunday brunch there. There's an option to sit inside & outside (this is where we sit), the weather was nice with slightly cool breeze. The service was very good, the food quality is excellent ... we had a great time. For starter Miguel & I had Ensalada Verde (Green Salad) followed by Spaghetti al oglio with pepperoncini for me (highly recommended if you like spicy food, it was super yummy) and Beef Brochette for Miguel (deliciously big portion, you have to be hungry). We also had clericot (fruit salad with champagne) to drink .... no space for dessert, too full :) English menu availble, good value for money. More pictures to tempt you below ... Situated at the heart of the port of Punta Del Este, it is a place where "who is who" dine-out. You have an option to sit facing to the ocean or facing to the sidewalk (this is where we sat). Their menu is huge but we do know what we want, Mejillones ala Provencal (clams cooked with butter, garlic & parsley)...DELICIOUS, we could eat lots of them ! For main course Miguel ordered a grilled fish with green salad, for me a bowl of fruity salad (consist of pineapple, green apple & heart of palm) and milanesa de carne (breaded beef) with fries for Ariel. Our dessert was the famous pancake di manzana (apple pancake) served with vanilla ice cream... soooooo good, I hardly taste the dough... its pretty much sliced apple with caramelized sugar, crunchy and yummy :) PS.English menu is available, good value for money. (www.elpalenque.com.uy) This particular stop is a must if you are meat lover like us. The restaurant inside decorated with hanging cured meat, their big grill (parilla) filled with different meat cuts & sausages.... guaranteed yumm, yummm !!!! We were there on Sunday for lunch and the place is packed with families, there's line -up after 1 pm, lucky we came at the right time. For starter I had grilled Morsilla (blood sausage) and Miguel ordered Chinculin (Beef Tripe), followed by selection of cold cuts and then for main course Brochete Beef (skewered beef) for me and Baby Beef (Smallest Steak) for Miguel. We ate well for sure, even Ariel loves it. The quality of the meat was superb, I must admit, the best I ever taste in my life. Highly recommended. PS. English menu is available, good value for money. Set on the back of the beautiful L' Auberge Hotel, surrounded by rose garden, nothing can beat having your coffee or tea with these classic waffles. Served with fresh cream, or jam or our favorite, dulce de leche, it is to die for. If you like Hot Chocolate like our daughter, their speciality, Submarino is a must try one. It is a simple yet divine experience, the Chef prepared the waffles on iron cast in front of you, the waitresses were nice ladies that been there many, many years (the one that served us been working there for 36 years), so they've seen many different crowds over the years and the tourist like us :) Since we are there during spring they only open on a weekend, if you come during summer they open everyday 5 pm - 8 pm. Highly recommended, good value for money. More pictures as follows Rose garden Submarino The View inside Waffles in the making Yummy Waffles Add dulche de leche Happy Faces (^_^)

My friend Vivi introduced me to this hidden-gem eatery about 6 moths ago, I've been back (minimum) once a week ever-since ... with our without Vivi :-) Its cozy and casual, somewhat tranquil considering it is next door to the newly renovated Pasar Santa. The food is traditional Sundanese, menu consists of around 20 Rice dishes (Nasi Langgi, Nasi Bogana, etc) and couple of soups options (Soto & Rawon ) that you can choose, all of them are reasonably priced and sooooo yummy. When you are waiting for your food to arrive you'll be tempted nicely with displays of snack & dessert (jajanan pasar) in the glass counter right in the middle of the restaurant. Some people went there to take away only but for me is both, dine -in and take away :-0 My favorite lunch menu, Nasi Bogana, Rp. 17,500.00 per package with bottomless-pitt sambal matah (sundanese style !) and Teh Botol Sosro (of course). Selamat Makan ! Also, these ladies are singing throughout lunch time (15 mins break every now and then) with traditional Kecapi (correct me if I'm wrong). So, lunch anyone ?
