Genre: Action & Adventure
Cast: James McAvoy, Morgan Freeman, Terence Stamp, Thomas Kretschmann and Angelina Jolie
Directed by: Timur Bekmambetov
Story by: Michael Brandt & Derek Haas
Based on the Series of Comic Book by: Mark Millar and J.G. Jones

Based upon Mark Millar's explosive graphic novel series and helmed by stunning visualist director Timur Bekmambetov—creator of the most successful Russian film franchise in history, the Night Watch series—Wanted tells the tale of one apathetic nobody's transformation into an unparalleled enforcer of justice. In 2008, the world will be introduced to a hero for a new generation: Wesley Gibson.

25-year-old Wes (James McAvoy) was the most disaffected, cube-dwelling drone the planet had ever known. His boss chewed him out hourly, his girlfriend ignored him routinely and his life plodded on interminably. Everyone was certain this disengaged slacker would amount to nothing. There was little else for Wes to do but wile away the days and die in his slow, clock-punching rut.

Until he met a woman named Fox (Angelina Jolie).

After his estranged father is murdered, the deadly sexy Fox recruits Wes into the Fraternity, a secret society that trains Wes to avenge his dad's death by unlocking his dormant powers. As she teaches him how to develop lightning-quick reflexes and phenomenal agility, Wes discovers this team lives by an ancient, unbreakable code: carry out the death orders given by fate itself.

With wickedly brilliant tutors—including the Fraternity's enigmatic leader, Sloan (Morgan Freeman)—Wes grows to enjoy all the strength he ever wanted. But, slowly, he begins to realize there is more to his dangerous associates than meets the eye. And as he wavers between newfound heroism and vengeance, Wes will come to learn what no one could ever teach him: he alone controls his destiny.

Genre: Action & Adventure
Written & Directed By: Sylvester Stallone

Twenty years after the last film in the series, John Rambo (SYLVESTER STALLONE) has retreated to northern Thailand, where he's running a longboat on the Salween River. On the nearby Thai-Burma (Myanmar) border, the world's longest-running civil war, the Burmese-Karen conflict, rages into its 60th year. But Rambo, who lives a solitary, simple life in the mountains and jungles fishing and catching poisonous snakes to sell, has long given up fighting, even as medics, mercenaries, rebels and peace workers pass by on their way to the war-torn region.

That all changes when a group of human rights missionaries search out the "American river guide" John Rambo. When Sarah (JULIE BENZ) and Michael Bennett (PAUL SCHULZE) approach him, they explain that since last year's trek to the refugee camps, the Burmese military has laid landmines along the road, making it too dangerous for overland travel. They ask Rambo to guide them up the Salween and drop them off, so they can deliver medical supplies and food to the Karen tribe. After initially refusing to cross into Burma, Rambo takes them, dropping off Sarah, Michael and the aid workers...

Less than two weeks later, pastor Arthur Marsh (KEN HOWARD) finds Rambo and tells him the aid workers did not return and the embassies have not helped locate them. He tells Rambo he's mortgaged his home and raised money from his congregation to hire mercenaries to get the missionaries, who are being held captive by the Burmese army. Although the United States military trained him to be a lethal super soldier in Vietnam, decades later Rambo's reluctance for violence and conflict are palpable, his scars faded, yet visible. However, the lone warrior knows what he must do...

We took Mig's parents to The Premiere at Senayan City last night so they can experience the different between the normal Cinema here and the Premiere, they were WOW-ed by the experience (the LaZ-Boy seats, the BIG screen, the sound effects and the waiters serving our food & drinks inside the theater *smile*) but must say the truth that we dislike the movie, it is bloody, harsh and just too crazy, I'm hiding behind my blanket most of the time or holding my breath when Rambo suddenly disappear, hence only 2 stars from me (aka no big deal).

Also this movie is not for the faint hearted, don't watch if you don't like the sounds of explosions & guns and see blood gushing from all direction *winks*

A little teaser for you to see below

I'm sure most of you watched this movie already by now but I'm not gonna spoil it for those of you who plan to go and see it. Miguel & I went to Plaza Senayan Blitz Megaplex this evening for a change, really enjoy the evening out just the two of us, a real indulgence.

Oh,it's a good movie too !!!

Very entertaining (beyond my expectation),totally cool settings & plot, some made me raise my eyebrows (Oval Office ? Buckingham Palace ?) a bit far fetch in my opinion, anyway .. its a movie right sooooo ... 4 stars from me.

Some people compare Nicholas Cage role in this movie like a modern Indiana Jones but much more clever (LOL... I read some reviews before we went out to see it) and in a way I actually agree, he played well.

Below is preview teaser for you all to enjoy ...

Have a wonderful weekend everyone.

We watched it last night and after the first 15 minutes Miguel was looking at me shake his head then turn to his right ... fell asleep right away. Yes, it's a funny movie (hey, its Ben Stiller movie.. he is FUNNY !) but didn't tickle me in the right direction, in my opinion its kinda boring actually.. not enough sparks. My favorite part is whenever the Mariachi shows -up otherwise its a chicklit movie with a twist at the very end, therefore 3 stars from me.

Frank Falenczyk (Ben Kingsley) loves his job. He just happens to be the hit-man for his Polish mob family in Buffalo, New York. But Frank's got a drinking problem and when he messes up a critical assignment that puts the family business in peril, his uncle (Philip Baker Hall) sends him to San Francisco to clean up his act. Played with gruff charm by Kingsley, Frank is not a touchy-feely kind of guy, but things begin looking up for him. He starts going to AA meetings and gets a job at a mortuary where he falls for the tart-tongued Lauren (Téa Leoni) who is devoid of boundaries and clearly not mourning her step dad's sudden passing. Meanwhile, things aren't going well in Buffalo where an upstart Irish gang is threatening the family business. When violence erupts, Frank is forced to return home and with an unlikely assist from Lauren, faces old rivals on new terms.

Stylishly directed by John Dahl (Rounders, The Last Seduction), 'You Kill Me' is the story of what happens when two mismatched people find a common calling. With dead-on performances by Kingsley and Leoni, 'You Kill Me' is a street-smart mob comedy that scores a direct hit.

It's totally predictable but super-duper-hillarious movie, I laughed a lot !!! For those of you looking for feeling good movie (my cup of tea) than look-out for this one, its a guarantee that you'll rolled-your-eyes-out laughing :)

Consider MR. BROOKS. A successful businessman. A generous philanthropist. A loving father and devoted husband. Seemingly, he's perfect. But Mr. Brooks has a secret -- he is an insatiable serial killer, so lethally clever that no one has ever suspected him -- until now.

Academy Award winner Kevin Costner stars as Earl Brooks, a man who has managed to keep his two incompatible worlds from intersecting by controlling his cunning, wicked alter ego Marshall (Academy Award winner William Hurt). But now, as Mr. Brooks succumbs to one last murderous urge, an amateur photographer (Dane Cook) witnesses the crime. Suddenly Brooks finds himself entangled in the dark agenda of an opportunistic bystander, as well as hunted by the unorthodox and tenacious detective Tracy Atwood (Demi Moore). Can Mr. Brooks outsmart his adversaries and conceal his shocking double life from his wife (Marg Helgenberger) and daughter (Danielle Panabaker) or will someone expose his crimes and his identity once and for all in this unpredictable and electrifying new thriller.

We didn't plan to watch this movie, I saw it showing at Premiere in EX,went inside to check the time and got the 9.55 pm tickets. Normally, we won't go to watch a movie this late (considering it will be finished at midnight) but something intriguing me about Kevin Costner & Demi Moore in the movie poster.... I just grab the ticket and told Miguel afterwards that we'll be watching movie after our dinner, must say that he's not too impressed :-(

It turns out to be a GREAT movie !

Luuuuuvvv Kevin & Demi in this movie, they're playing their role amazingly, Kudos for Raynold Gideon (Screenwriter/Director) too, haven't watch a movie that is cleverly done like this one for a long time, Raynold knows how to keep everybody on their toes till the very end.

Got 4 stars from me 'cause honestly I was a bit disturb about 'killing do & don'ts' in the movie... its scary to think that somewhere out there some psycho might get an idea from it :-(

Anyway, a little teaser from the Movie Thriller... enjoy !

Category:Movies
Genre: Mystery & Suspense
In RED DRAGON we learned who he was. In SILENCE OF THE LAMBS we learned how he did it. Now comes the most chilling chapter in the life of Hannibal Lecter -- the one that answers the most elusive question of all - why?

Based on the best-selling author Thomas Harris' new book of the same name, HANNIBAL RISING reaches back to explore the origins of Lecter's rage, terror and savagery...

The story begins in Eastern Europe at the end of World War II. For many it was no longer a conflict of nations but one of individual survival, at any cost. A young Hannibal watches from only steps away as his parents violently die, leaving his cherished young sister in his care. This horrific moment will soon pale in comparison to the atrocities he is forced to witness, changing him forever.

Alone and without any means of support, he is forced to live in a Soviet orphanage that once served as his family's beloved home. He flees to Paris, where a cunning aptitude for science sees him accepted into medical school, which serves to hone his skills and provide the tools to exact justice on the war criminals that haunt him day and night. This quest will ignite an insatiable lust within a serial killer who was not born, but made.

****

Watched the previous 2 movies of Hannibal Lecter (Anthony Hopkins) with great curiosity and fear (obviously). This one starring Gaspard Ulliel as young Hannibal still haunting me with disturbing images. Its a difficult movie to watch if you have your daughter sleeping in the next room. My suggestion, don't watch it at night and also don't watch it alone.

Its brilliantly violent, cold-blood mixed with good looks (ehm) got 3 stars from me 'cause I hate the fact that this movie is exposing cannibalism !!!

PS. My hubby said its Hannibal the Cannibal movie, what do you expect ?

A Movie by Pedro Almodovar

After her death, a mother (Maura) returns to her home town in order to fix the situations could'nt resolve during her life. Of her family left in town, her ghost slowly becomes a comfort to her daughters (Cruz, Duenas), as well as her grandchild (Cobo). The backdrop is Madrid and its lively working-class neighbourhoods, where the immigrantys from the various Spanish province share dreams, lives and fortune with a multitude of ethnic groups and other races.

*****

A rare moment on Sunday yesterday, Miguel's out golfing and Ariel was napping, I had a good 2 hour alone watching this movie (Miguel put it on chick-lit piles for me,the kind that he' won't watch).

A big kudos for Cruz, she's playing brilliantly in this movie... the character fit her perfectly well with her mother tounge, I really enjoyed watching this movie. A motherhood story with all heartbreaking sad moments, my conclusion after watching it is there's always light at the end of the tunnel, every problem has its own solution even some of them are harsh, just forgive and forget.

She also "SING" in this movie that some review said a bit cliche since she's lip-sync it but hey, I luv it.. here it is....

John Titan (John Cena,WWE Wrestling Champion) is a heroic Marine who returns home after being discharged, against his will, from the Iraq War. Stateside, he finds himself back in action, when his wife(Kelly Carlson) is kidnapped by a murderous gang led by the merciless Rome (Robert Patrick). With everything on the line, the Marine will stop at nothing to carry out his toughest and most important mission.

This is a typical One Hero action movie, he went through everything within 24 hours (car chase, forest trap, swamp fights and more), a bit like Terminator in some scene.

SCHOOL FOR SCOUNDRELS

In "School For Scoundrels", Jon Heder plays Roger, a beleaguered New York City Meter Maid who is plagued by anxiety and low self-esteem. In order to overcome his feelings of inadequacy, Roger enrolls in a top secret confidence building class taught by the suavely underhanded Dr. P (Billy Bob Thornton). Aided by his assistant, Lesher (Michael Clarke Duncan), Dr. P uses unorthodox, often dangerous method, but he guarantee results : Employ his techniques and you will unleash your inner lion. Surrounded by a band of misfit classmates - Walsh (Matt Walsh),who's dying to move out of his mother basement; Diego (Horatio Sanz), a punching bag for his hen-pecker of a wife; and Eli (Todd Louiso), a shy guy just looking for female companionship - Roger's confidence grows and he makes his way to the head of the class, even finding the courage to ask out his longtime crush, Amanda (Jacinda Barrett)

This is a funny movie yet you kinda know how the ending gonnna be,my favourite part is almost at the end when they were in the plane, very entertaining.

Also, Ben Stiller playing cameo here, look out for him :-)

Not a big fan of Billy Bob but he's actually quite OK in this one. Anyway, don't kill yourself if you haven't seen it, at the end of the day this is one of those happy go lucky movie.
