monthly Foodie Multipliers #9 with theme Potato. My ex- neighbour and a dear friend of mine, Malathi Hariharan, passed me this recipe several months ago. Unfortunately I don't remember the name in her language (Indian) but I called them spicy potato since the very first time I ate them in her house. It is a good acompaniment for almost any dish, in her house she served it with freshly made chapati (she's vegetarian) and in my home I served it with grilled chicken or rack of lamb, yuuummmmmyyyy :)
Ingredients :
2 medium potatoes, peeled & cubes
1 tbsp vegetables oil
1 tsp chilli powder
1 tsp turmeric powder
1/2 tsp crushed dried chillies (optional)
Salt
Method of cooking:
* Heat the oil in a pan (preferably non-stick kind)
* Add potatoes cubes, sautee lightly, cover the pan with a lid for 2 mins
* Add all seasonings, stir them evenly, cover again with low heat
* Taste the potatoes, it should be ready around 10 minutes in low heat
* Served it warm.
